Lancashire Best Kept Village Competition 2024

West Bradford has been successful in this year's Best Kept Village competition, being awarded the status of "Highly Commended" (ie placed either 3rd or 4th) in the Small Villages category.

The judges' feedback was in many ways positive, with particular reference to the friendliness of villagers as they assessed the tidiness of West Bradford. For general information, other comments made included:

  • "the stone wall that runs through the centre has been attacked by bad drivers and is crying out for maintenance in three separate  places"; and

  • "the map [of the village, provided to assist the judges] was not the best, but we found all the relevant parts to be seen, and the pen picture was helpful."

On balance, this is a good result for the village and the Parish Council would like to thank all residents for their continuing support. The Parish Council notes the judges' comments and will always lobby for maintenance of local facilities such as the stone walls to be found in our village.
