Lancashire Best Kept Village Competition 2021

The county-wide results from the 2021 competition have now been received, and the Parish Council is delighted to report that once again the village has enjoyed a successful year. A particular mention should be made of Eaves Hall, overall winner of the Best Hotel category; our congratulations and well done! Other noteworthy entries include:

  • the Village Hall - placed joint 8th from 23 entries in the Public Building category; and

  • the War Memorial / Coronation Gardens – placed joint 8th from 27 entries.

The awards were based upon scores allocated by independent judges who visited the village on two separate occasions over the summer. Their comments, which were considered to be positive and constructive by parish councillors, are set out below:

The Parish Council would like to thank all those local organisations which entered the competition in 2021, their efforts are genuinely appreciated and we sincerely hope that they will all enter again next year.
